About Us
Our Story
Girls Who Fly Fish is a welcoming community for women who want to learn, explore, and enjoy fly fishing together in Knoxville, Tennessee.
What started as a small group of women meeting up to fish and share knowledge has grown into a supportive network where beginners and experienced anglers alike can connect on and off the water. Our goal is simple: create a space where women feel comfortable asking questions, learning new skills, and building confidence in fly fishing. This group is primarily a community for women ages 18 and older. We are also developing youth programming to introduce younger anglers to fly fishing in a safe and supportive environment.
Whether you're picking up a fly rod for the very first time or you've been fishing for years, Knox Girls is a place to find community, encouragement, and time outdoors.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make fly fishing more approachable and welcoming for women by creating opportunities to learn, connect, and spend time on the water together.
Through meetups, fishing outings, educational sessions, and community events, we aim to remove the intimidation that many women feel when starting fly fishing and replace it with confidence, friendship, and adventure.

Meet the Founders
Jayme & Amy
Knox Girls Who Fly Fish began with a simple connection.
In the summer of 2025, Jayme and Amy were introduced by a local fly shop who knew they were both looking for other women to fish with. After connecting on Instagram and exchanging a few messages, they decided to meet up on the water—and instantly hit it off.
What started as one fishing day quickly turned into something more. They put the word out that they were looking for other women who wanted to fish, learn, and spend time outside together.
Amy began sharing the idea through her videos and posts on TikTok and Instagram, and the response was immediate. Their first meetup at Jayme’s home brought together a dozen women. The next month, even more showed up.
It became clear right away—this was something women had been looking for.
Since then, the group has continued to grow into a welcoming, supportive community built around learning, laughter, and time on the water. What started as a simple meet-up has turned into something much bigger—and they’re just getting started.

The Crew
A group like this doesn’t grow without incredible women behind it. From organizing events to helping others learn on the water, these are the women who help bring Girls Who Fly Fish to life.
